The Ann Elmore Transition House is a residence where women and their children can go to be safe from abuse or violence.

Each year over 250 women and their children seek shelter in the Ann Elmore Transition House. More than 300 additional women receive support and information.

The Transition House offers

  • confidentiality, respect, acceptance and understanding

  • homey environment, food and basic personal needs

  • information, support, counselling, and referrals

  • children's program for children resident at Ann Elmore

  • assistance in dealing with legal, community and social services agencies

  • 24 hour crisis/support phone line

  • toll free 1-800 service to assist women living in the North Vancouver Island area who wish to access the services

  • safe shelter

Abuse can affect any family regardless of income, profession, religion, or education.

Abuse is as serious a problem for teens and college students as it is for the elderly being abused by caregivers or their children.
